The Department
of Public Administration and
Policy provides graduate
and undergraduate students
an understanding of the institutional
foundations and intellectual
traditions of public administration
and policy, the economic and
financial issues central to
public service, the use of
data and models in decision-making,
and fundamental principles
of management.
Students also
develop the skills of effective
communication, working in groups
and organizations, and career
identity and management. Our
students engage, in a mutually
reinforcing way, the academic
study and professional practice
of public administration and
policy. In addition, the Ph.D.
program helps new scholars
generate and teach theoretical
and applied knowledge in all
of these areas. |
