U.S. News & World Report Ranks Rockefeller College
Among Nation’s Best

Once again, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy at the University at Albany has been recognized among the nation’s best graduate public affairs programs by U.S. News & World Report.

In its 2017 rankings, U.S. News & World Report named Rockefeller College 19th overall among all public affairs programs. The college was also recognized for excellence in a number of individual public affairs specialties. Rockefeller was ranked:

  • 3rd in Information and Technology Management
  • 9th in Public Finance and Budgeting
  • 10th in Nonprofit Management
  • 14th in Public Management Administration
  • 30th in Public Policy Analysis

“Our standing in the field is testament to the dedication of our faculty and staff to excellence in teaching and research,” said Rockefeller College Interim Dean R. Karl Rethemeyer. "As a public institution, we also offer one of the great values in higher education – an unbeatable combination of ranked excellence and affordable cost. We look forward to building on the momentum in our public affairs offerings as we stand up a new Master of International Affairs (MIA) this fall. The MIA will draw on our nationally ranked curriculum and outstanding faculty to offer students an opportunity for professional study that focuses more closely on problems and operating environments outside the U.S.”

Rankings are based solely on results of a peer assessment survey conducted in the fall of 2015. Deans, directors and department chairs representing 272 master’s programs in public affairs and administration were surveyed.

Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy at the University at Albany has consistently been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation's premier schools of public affairs. The College offers undergraduate- and graduate-level study in public administration, public policy, and political science.
