Several members of the Class of 2014 are headed to law school this fall. Recently, Rockefeller College's Director of Undergraduate Student Services Zakhar Berkovich caught up with five of the future legal eagles for a photo on the steps of Page Hall on the downtown campus.
"We are very proud of the accomplishments of our graduates," said Berkovich. "They leave these halls with a commitment to public service and civic engagement, as well as the knowledge and tools to make our society a better place. At home and abroad, they'll be serving the public and private sectors in such diverse areas as the Peace Corps, journalism, government, and law."
Kelsey Hanson of Clifton Park, N.Y. plans on attending SUNY Buffalo Law School in September. "Rockefeller College helped me build my resume through unique internship opportunities that have allowed me to develop a network that will prove vital after graduation from law school," said Kelsey reflecting on her undergraduate studies.
Classmate Yekaterina Bychko of New Hyde Park, N.Y., soon to be a student at UConn School of Law in Hartford, is a transfer student to UAlbany. "Just an overall great experience" is how she describes her time at Rockefeller. "I was able to obtain an internship my first year after transferring with the help of my advisor and the career services staff," says Yekaterina. "I developed great relationships with the people at the Albany Bar Association. My advisor helped me make a plan that outlined exactly what courses I needed to take to finish my major as well as two minors in just two years. All my questions were answered in a timely manner and I always felt like I was supported. My professors were also all very helpful and knowledgeable and were always willing to assist me on their own time."
Senior Corey Carmello of Latham, N.Y. added, "The people that I have become acquainted with throughout my time at Rockefeller College have undoubtedly motivated me to pursue a career in law and public service. The knowledge of the professors and the drive of my peers have been inspiring." Corey and fellow members of the Class of 2014 Steven Cummings of Staten Island and Anthony De Marco of Buffalo will enter Albany Law School this fall.
Congratulations and best of luck to the Class of 2014!
