Rep. Paul Tonko and Director of State Operations Jim Malatras To Address Rockefeller Grads

ALBANY, N.Y. (May 10, 2016) - Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy at the University at Albany will celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2016 during its Graduate and Undergraduate Recognition Ceremonies this coming weekend in Page Hall on the University's downtown campus at 135 Western Avenue, Albany, N.Y. 

Over 280 students representing various degree and professional programs within the college's Departments of Public Administration & Policy and Political Science will be recognized for their academic achievements, including 60 master's degrees (55 Master of Public Administration and 5 Master of Arts in Political Science); 12 doctoral degrees (9 Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration and 3 Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science); 197 bachelor's degrees (167 Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and 30 Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy); and 13 graduate certificates.
 
On Saturday, May 14 at 6 p.m., Rockefeller College alumnus Jim Malatras, Director of State Operations in the Office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, will deliver the keynote address during Rockefeller's Graduate Recognition Ceremony. 

Congressman Paul D. Tonko will address 197 graduating seniors and their families and friends at the college's Undergraduate Recognition Ceremony on Sunday, May 15 at 1:30 p.m. This year’s graduates come from eight states — Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, and Wisconsin — and South Korea.
 
More than 3,100 undergraduate and graduate students are expected to participate in the University at Albany's 172nd Commencement ceremoniesFriday, May 13, through Sunday, May 15.
