Shawn Bushway Named ASC 2014 Distinguished Scholar

Professor Shawn Bushway of the Department of Public Administration and Policy at Rockefeller College has been awarded the American Society of Criminology's prestigious Distinguished Scholar Award from the Division of Corrections and Sentencing for 2014.

The award will be presented during the ASC's upcoming annual conference in San Francisco on Thursday, November 20 at the breakfast meeting of the Division on Corrections and Sentencing.

Dr. Bushway is an internationally recognized scholar of criminal justice policy who has written more than 50 publications and been awarded over $3 million of external funding to support his work. He earned his PhD in Public Policy Analysis and Political Economy at the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University in 1996. He taught at the University of Maryland from 1996 to 2006 and the University at Albany's School of Criminal Justice from 2006 to 2014. Dr. Bushway recently  joined the Rockefeller College public policy group, which draws on faculty from both Political Science and Public Administration and Policy.
