Former Rockefeller Advisor and UAlbany Alumna, Catherine Bertini, Named to Benghazi Accountability Review Board
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has named Dr. Catherine Bertini (BA, ’71) to serve on the State Department’s Accountability Review Board that is looking into the facts and circumstances of the attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11.

Bertini, a professor of public administration and international affairs at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and the former Executive Director of the World Food Program at the United Nations, is joined on the panel by former Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Pickering, former Joint Chiefs Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen (ret.), Hugh Turner III and Richard J. Shinnick.
Dr. Bertini is a 1971 graduate of the University at Albany and a former member of Rockefeller College’s Advisory Board. She joined the faculty of the Maxwell School in 2005.
