Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation & Adjunct Professor, Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy

Peter Finn was appointed deputy commissioner for finance and administration for the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation in 2007. He previously served as the agency’s finance director and chief information officer. Pete began his career with State Parks as a public management intern in 1978. He holds a master’s of public administration degree from Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, University at Albany, State University of New York, where he is currently an adjunct faculty member. He earned undergraduate degrees in biology and forestry from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University. Pete is a fellow of the State Academy of Public Administration and a member of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). He serves as treasurer of the New York State Recreation and Park Society, as agency liaison to the Northeast and National Associations of State Park Directors, and as a board member for the National Association of State Outdoor Recreation Officers.
