Nonprofit Leadership and Community Development Projects

The Institute for Nonprofit Leadership and Community Development was established through collaboration between the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy, Albany Law School, and UAlbany's Schools of Business, Public Health, and Social Welfare.

The Institute works with local communities, businesses, and nonprofit organizations to:

  • Stimulate the exchange of ideas between researchers and practitioners.
  • Create affordable professional development opportunities for nonprofit leaders.
  • Provide nonprofits with technical assistance and consultation on best practices.
  • Support community research related to issues that affect the nonprofit sector.

There is no departmental assistantship consideration for this program.

The statement is generally one to two pages discussing what you have to offer the program and what you wish to get out of the program.  It should include a brief description of the applicant's field of interest, related background, desired area of study and research emphasis or career goals.



*One or two letters of recommendation are encouraged but not required for admission.
