Value to New York State as the Leader in RNA

The RNA Institute will be a resource for small, medium and large businesses and aims to spur the development of start-up companies, new R&D centers, and other business operations in New York State. In collaboration with UAlbany School of Business faculty, The RNA Institute is providing researchers with the tools and
strategic know-how to assess the marketplace and successfully develop and commercialize intellectual property in the Capital Region. The development of
outreach and public identity will advance The RNA Institute as an economic engine for the State and the region through its public-private partnerships.

The RNA Institute will put New York State at the forefront of cutting-edge technology as a national resource. The Institute will take full advantage of this new paradigm in drug discovery. New York will be positioned as the leader in RNA technology with the huge growth potential to spin out unique therapeutic and diagnostic start-up companies. RNA-based therapeutics is an innovative, new technology with the opportunity to treat many different diseases with a new class of treatments.
