Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting of the

RNA Institute’s Cutting-Edge Research Center

Tuesday, June 11th at 10:45 AM

We are happy to announce that the construction of our new facilities which were funded by an NIH building grant and University at Albany is now complete.  Thanks to Governor Cuomo’s signature investment through the Regional Economic Development Council, the Institute is equipped with specialized research equipment for RNA technology development that supports the NYS Tech Valley initiative in biotechnology.

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony with President Robert Jones, two Nobel Laureates, Dr. Ada Yonath, a member of the Institute’s Scientific Advisory Board and Dr. Jack Szostak.  The other members of the Institute’s Scientific Advisory Board will also be in attendance. The board includes six members of the US National Academy of Sciences, a member of the European Academy of Sciences and two Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigators.

Tours of the new space and instrumentation will follow the ribbon cutting. The Institute’s newest faculty members and senior research scientists at The RNA Institute will provide short presentations of their research to the members of our Corporate Advisory Board and our Scientific Advisory Board.
