RESEARCH RELATED COMMITTEES
IACUC Committee Members
The IACUC committee is comprised of members who are University at Albany faculty with experience in animal studies, the Laboratory Facility Director, the Consulting Veterinarian, the Compliance Officer, a non-affiliated community member, and a non-scientist member.
The Vice President for Research appoints the Chair and all members. The IACUC conforms to the general public health service guidelines (PHS policy at IV.A.3.B) concerning membership. IACUC’s responsibilities include the inspection of the animal facilities as well as all laboratories that use animals.

IBC Committee Members
The IBC committee is comprised of members who are University at Albany faculty with experience in biohazardous materials, the Compliance Officer, a non-affiliated community member, and a non-scientist member. The Vice President for Research appoints the Chair and all members. The IBC conforms to all relevant regulations and guidelines concerning membership. IBC’s responsibilities include the inspection of all laboratories that conduct research using biohazardous materials.
