UAlbany Students, Faculty and Staff Help to "Rebuild Schoharie"

On September 17, 2011, UAlbany students and staff from the Cornerstone Protestant Campus Ministry, along with Newman Catholic Campus Ministry and Circle K, took part in a day-long effort dedicated to helping rebuild Schoharie, NY.  The group participated in an orientation/training session before being assigned to an adversely impacted homeowner.  Their volunteer work consisted of removing the walls of the destroyed home, which had suffered severe first floor damage from the flooding. With the help of a grant from the Division for Student Success, a return trip is being planned for Saturday October 8, 2011 with up to 100 students, faculty and staff.  Additionally, they have tentatively planned a trip for November 13, 2011 to continue to “Rebuild Schoharie”. The trips are open to all students.
