Ongoing Project: Construction of sanitary facilities at Las Manos

We made a monetary contribution toward the construction of new sanitary facilities at Las Manos, the biggest settlement of displaced people in Panajachel.

Construction of homes at Las Manos.

There are 180 people at the settlement, all of whom were sharing only a few bathrooms and washing facilities.

The owner has allowed families to reside in temporary structures until April.

Las Manos is located in the same area as many of the homes that were washed away in Panajachel--in the vicinity of the main river that flows through Panajachel.

The earth in vicinity of the river is sand, which was washed away by the force of the current.
