New York Energy Policy Institute
UAlbany's School of Business has been chosen to be part of the $600,000 New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) grant to establish a New York Energy Policy Institute. The School of Business will be working closely with other leading research universities in New York State including Columbia University, Syracuse University, RPI, and SUNY Stony Brook. This team of schools will be advising policymakers on the pressing issues of energy policy. The purpose of the institute is to tap into the knowledge of the state's public and private institutions of higher learning to benefit energy research and provide guidance to NYS decision-makers.
