University Libraries

UAlbany's Libraries are among the top 100 research libraries in the country. They include the University Library and Science Library on the uptown campus and the Thomas E. Dewey Graduate Library on the downtown campus. The Libraries serve as a major community resource. Any member of the general public may visit any of the Libraries and, on site, use the 2.2 million volumes of books and periodicals, 450,000 U.S. Government Documents, 2.9 million microforms, and thousands of electronic database and online journals that comprise the collection. The Libraries’ online catalog, information literacy tutorials, and research guides are freely accessible from the Libraries’ website.  Many of the links from the reference section of the web site connect users to open-access, full-text sites that are available from remote locations.
