Biodiversity, Conservation and Policy Program
One track in the Biodiversity, Conservation and Policy Program deals with the relationships between urbanization and conservation. Faculty and students participate in conservation-oriented research in the Albany Pine Bush and in local communities, including the Towns of Knox, Saugerties and Tivoli. Faculty members sit on several NGO conservation boards, and serve on Conservation Boards and as advisors to local governments. They have provided technical assistance in such areas as community definition of neighborhood identity and comprehensive land use planning.
