Overview of the Faculty handbook

Welcome to the Reading Department Faculty Handbook.

 

The handbook is divided into the following areas:

• Guidance for those just joining the department as a professor or lecturer (full-time, part-time, visiting), an administrative assistant, or advisor:

--moving expenses--payroll--computer equipment

--etc.

 

• Reading Department policies and procedures relating to:

--teaching on campus (course preparation, course syllabi, ordering books, ERES, evaluations, etc.)

--teaching online (SLN training, course preparation, course syllabi, managing online courses, evaluations, etc.)

--advising (MS, CAS, PHD)

--research and teaching assistants

--serving on Department, SOE & UA committees

--continuing appointment, promotion and tenure

--Discretionary salary increases (DSI)
