Michele Bridgewater serves as the Assistant Director of the Eastern New York Regional School Center. She began her teaching career in New Orleans and has since served the profession in a number of teaching and administrative roles in Texas, New Jersey and currently New York. Previously, Michele held the position of School Improvement Specialist with a primary focus on the area of Special Education achievement and the over-representation of students of color placed in special education. As Assistant Director of the Center, she is responsible for a staff of school improvement specialists who provide direct technical assistance to those schools identified through the NCLB Accountability system. Michele completed her undergraduate work at Georgetown University, and received a master’s degree in Education Administration and Policy Studies from The University at Albany, where she is currently pursuing her doctorate degree in Reading.
