After years of writing humor pieces, essays, and stories for leading newspapers and magazines, he earned three writing Emmys for TV's "Late Night With David Letterman," then a fourth Emmy for his writing on Fox Network’s "TV Nation." His weekly "The Ethicist" column in the New York Times Magazine, begun in 1999, appears in 40 papers in the U.S. and Canada.
