Areas of interest: My research interests are within the general domain of Occupational Health Psychology, which focuses on the effect of work on employee well-being. My specific research areas are as follows:

  • The effects of workplace fairness on employee strain, with an emphasis on moral emotions in explaining the relations among unfair treatment and psychological and physical health.
  • Multilevel perspectives on employee stress, emphasizing the origins of the work stress process across the occupational/group, job, and event levels of analysis. This research aims to identify the structural origins of occupational stressors and identify pathways linking these stressors to employee well-being.
  • Spillover from work to family life, with a particular emphasis on differences between U.S. and Chinese workers in reactions to work-family conflict and enrichment.
