Psychology Research Centers

The faculty within the Psychology Department are active researchers. We currently house the Research Centers and several independent research programs headed up by individual faculty. Additionally, several faculty share cross-cutting research interests around thematic areas. These are highlighted below.
Research Centers
Center for Stress and Anxiety Disorders (CARD), Edward Blanchard, Ph.D., Director. Affiliated faculty: John P. Forsyth, Edward Hickling, Edelgard Wulfert.
Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities. Kristin V. Christodulu, Ph.D., Director. The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at the University at Albany (CARD Albany) is a community-based program that provides program development, training, and support for individuals, families, professionals and peers of people with autism and related disabilities.
The Psychological Services Center. George Litchford, Director. The Psychological Services Center is a training and research clinic for the Clinical and Counseling Psychology Doctoral Programs at The University at Albany, State University of New York.
Center for Problem Gambling. Affiliated faculty: Edelgard Wulfert. The Center for Problem Gambling is a program of Family and Children's Service of the Capital Region, Inc. The Center is funded through the New York State Office of Mental Health since 1996 and committed to serve people in need in the greater Capital Region.
