Psychology
of Addictive Behaviors. The Psychology Department
at the University at Albany invites applications
for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate
Professor level. Area of specialization is open,
but candidates must be actively involved in basic
and/or applied research on the etiology, treatment,
or prevention of addictive behaviors at any stage
of the lifespan.
The Psychology Department supports five doctoral
programs in biopsychology, clinical, cognitive,
industrial-organizational, and social psychology.
Successful applicants will have a Ph.D. in Psychology
from a college or university accredited by a US Department
of Education or internationally recognized accrediting
organization and a strong record of publication,
demonstrated ability to develop a funded program
of research, and show evidence of excellence in teaching.
A strong background in quantitative methodology is
a plus.
All existing faculty in the psychology department
have developed strong working relationships with
colleagues in the School of Social Work, Counseling
Psychology, and Biological Sciences, the ability
to work cooperatively with colleagues within and
across degree programs and to initiate or contribute
to interdisciplinary research collaborations is
highly desirable. Applicants must also address
in their applications their ability to work with
a culturally diverse population as our department
is dedicated to training scholars for work in a
world of increasing diversity.
