Research Areas of Interest
My research interests focus on aspects of the coping process that enhance health and well-being. As a clinical psychologist and a health psychologist, I am interested not only in pathology and vulnerability, but also in resilience and positive adaptation. I investigate stress and coping both in an experimental context and as they occur naturalistically, because both types of research have the potential to improve interventions designed to help individuals confronting adversity. Specific areas of interest follow.

Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine
Stress, Emotion, and Coping
Mindfulness and acceptance
Psychology of Women and Gender
