University at Albany Presidential Search

A national search is under way for the 19th president of the University at Albany. The University Council, the campus governance body, launched the presidential search process following the announcement by current UAlbany President George M. Philip of his forthcoming retirement.

The University Council is responsible for managing the process and submitting its recommendations to the chancellor and trustees of the State University of New York. The Presidential Search Committee, including representatives of UAlbany faculty, staff, students, and alumni, members of The University at Albany Foundation and the University Council, and a representative designated by the SUNY chancellor, carries out the search.

The University at Albany is an internationally recognized public research university that brings "The World Within Reach" for more than 17,000 students at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Through nine schools and colleges, the University offers 111 undergraduate majors and minors and 125-plus graduate programs.
