Statement by New York Gov. George Pataki >>
Kermit L. Hall, who died Aug. 13, brought tremendous passion, energy and vitality to the job of leading the University at Albany. From his first day in office on Feb. 1, 2005, Hall made clear
that the University was serious about academic excellence and providing the best possible atmosphere for educating students. Strengthening the undergraduate experience, in particular, was a major
priority. His commitment, dynamism and leadership drove change, and the actions he set in motion have begun transforming academic life at UAlbany.
Through his words, the remembrances of others,
and many photos chronicling his time at the University at Albany, we attempt on this Website to commemorate the enormous significance of President Kermit L. Hall and his many contributions.
