PHS Goes Green!
In recognition of the University-wide effort to "Go Green" (see http://www.albany.edu/gogreen for more information) PHS has taken steps to be more environment-friendly:
- Invitations to members are being sent to
on-campus addresses where possible to reduce
the use of envelopes.
- The semester-ly "Member Profiles"
have been eliminated in favor of digital records
and databases.
- Meeting agendas have been eliminated and
all the information will be available on the
reformatted PHS website.
- Meeting minutes will no longer be printed
and available in the office, instead they
will be available on the PHS website.
- Hours report forms have been eliminated
and an online submission form has been designed
so supervisors send volunteer information
directly to PHS.
- The food we make available at meetings has
been selected to require the least amount
of papergoods (no silverware).
- The New Member Handbook
is now available online. To access it click
on this text or the tab on the left hand side
of this page.
- Welcome back letters to old members are
now being sent through e-mail instead of using
paper copies. Only new members are receiving
paper letters."
This is a handful of changes at once. To help current members transition, and to acclimate new members to the organization and our proceadures.

Did you know?
The spring tradition of "Campus Clean Up Day" was started by PHS as a small project to clean up the pond behind Indian Quad, and then slowly expanded and was taken over by the University?
