PHS Cleaning Up the South End
The Presidential Honors Society has been planning a large scale community service project to clean up the South End of Albany. We will be picking up litter and hopefully be able to trim some of the overgrowth in vacant lots. Recently, the South End has been featured by the Times Union. Please read Sunday's article and Monday's article to get a taste of the desparation that residents of the South End feel. There are also some photos and a video.
We need all the help we can get to tackle the magnitude of this project. Volunteers will be split up into "teams" to be responsible for smaller segments of the South End. (Please email Nick to get assigned to a team, or if you have a group of people that could form a new team.) We are also actively seeking donations of tools to help in the clean up effort.
