Professor of musicology at UCLA, and a MacArthur fellowship winner, will
present a lecture on “Intellectual Creativity in the Age of Computers,”
at 8 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center, with a reception

emeritus professor of Communication, Université
de Montréal, “What is an Organization?” at 1 p.m. in PC 355, Performing
Arts Center, sponsored by the Department of Communication. Taylor is known
internationally for his contribution to the study of the structuring properties
of communication in organizational settings.

“Independent Short Films With Frank and Caroline
Mouris.” Independent filmmakers Frank and Caroline Mouris, who specialize
in animation and collage, have selected several examples of their work
and the work of other independent filmmakers to present a celebration of
short film. They will provide film commentary and answer questions immediately
following the screenings. Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Page Hall, 135 Western

William B. Schade - A 25-Year
Retrospective An examination of the total work
of painting, sculpture, prints and drawings of this exceptionally creative
and energetic artist who is a graduate of the University Art Department
and faculty member of Sage College (Albany). A catalog with several essays
and color illustrations will accompany the exhibition at the University
Art Museum. Opening reception Sunday, September 26, 5-7 p.m.

facility to view a vast collection of artwork that is not on public display.

Marty Pottenger, performance artist and writer,
will present her Obie-winning theatrical production “City Water Tunnel
#3” at 8 p.m. in Page Hall, 135 Western Ave., Downtown Campus. “City Water
Tunnel #3” is a multimedia presentation which tells the story of the planning,
building and financing of the largest non-defense public-works project
in the Western Hemisphere.
