Senate
Fellows Sought until May 3
The
New York State Senate is offering Graduate, Post-Graduate, and Mid-Career
Fellowships for 2002-2003 to provide talented individuals with an intimate
knowledge of New York State government and to attract these individuals
to public service careers.
The program begins on September 12 and
concludes on July 16, 2003. The application deadline is May 3, 2002.
Applicants for a Legislative Fellowship
or a Wiebe Public Service Fellowship must be United States and New York
citizens or citizens of other states now enrolled as full-time matriculated
graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in accredited programs.
The Roth Journalism Fellow may be a recent exceptional graduate at the
undergraduate level. The Biggane Fellow in Finance and Fiscal Studies
will be a person in mid-career not younger than 35 years old at the
time of application. All academic majors are invited to apply. Class
work is prohibited during the full-time fellowship.
Each fellow receives a fully taxable stipend
of $29,500. Fellows are not Senate employees and do not earn vacation
or personal leave.
