Richard J. Weisenberger (rjweis00@ukcc.uky.edu) ----------------------- Richard Joseph Weisenberger was born in 1950 in Covington, Kentucky. He received an Associate degree in Electronics in 1970 from the University of Cincinnati. In 1975 he was granted U.S. Patent #3,883,814 on a direct coupled bridge amplifier design, the first of six patents. In 1979 he received his First Class Radiotelephone Federal Communications Commission (FCC) License and is currently a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) and is currently certified as a Broadcast Engineer, with a TV Endorsement. He is also a member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES). During 1974 through 1982 he was a member of the American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS). During 1978 through 1982, following independent research on flue pipe acoustics, he became a technical writer for the ATOS journal, Theatre Organ. The research on flue organ pipes directly led to his interest in whistles, culminating in two U.S. and three foreign patents on two toroidal whistle designs. An additional Japanese patent is pending. He is married and resides with his wife and son, works as a TV Engineer and publishes the journal of the Air Horn and Steam Whistle Enthusiasts, Horn & Whistle.
