Carlo Tarantola (carlo@tarantola.com) ---------- Born November 10th, 1958, in Genoa, Italy. I hold a degree in Electronic Engineering, but I also always wanted to be an organist. I studied music first by myself and then with several teachers in different epochs of my life. Nowadays, I started studying the organ again and I am currently at the "Ecole Departementale de Musique des Alpes Maritimes" in the south of France. I have assembled a 5 keyboards electronic organ driven by the virtual pipe organ software Hauptwerk. I own several samples sets, notably those of Gottfried Silbermann at St. Marien and the Palace of Arts of Budapest great concert organ. Others astonishingly good samples are in my wish list, so little by little I hope to be able to acquire them. For the virtual pipe organ, I am currently trying to build a keyboard that mimics as closely as possible the "touch and feel" of a mechanical organ. Until I was in Italy I played some historical Italian instruments and now that I live in France, I am lucky to be allowed to play on several pipe organs of the region (Monaco, Grasse).
