First heard organ music: First Baptist Church, McAllen, TX. Organist Phelan
Dorn became my hero. I would stand by the Hammond bench watching him play
postludes. Once, I reached over and pushed low C on the pedalboard. Got a good
shot for that one!
 
First heard a pipe organ: When we moved to California (CA) in
1952.
 
First worked on a pipe organ:  Assisting Henry Sieberg installing the 4-manual
AEolian-Skinner at Pasadena CA in 1960 after graduating from
University of Redlands [CA].
 
First tuned a pipe: Pipe Organs, Incorporated (Inc.), 1961-62
 
First set a temperament: AEolian-Skinner 1962-1967
 
First restored a WurliTzer: Beacon Theatre, New York City
(volunteer), 1963-1971

First self-employed: Formed Austin Organ Service Company, 1980-present.
