Dale G. Rider ------------- Dale G. Rider is Director of Music Ministries / Organist and Office-Associate for church publications at First Baptist Church (an American Baptist congregation), in Kansas City, Missouri, a Call he accepted in December, 1990. Dale earned both Associate and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music Education at Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, in 1968 and 1970 where he was Chapel Organist for four years and held an adjunct faculty position, teaching Applied Organ, following graduation. In August, 1971, he was appointed Graduate Teaching Assistant in Applied Organ and Chapel Organist of Weaver Chapel at Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio. Dale earned a Master of Sacred Music degree (1973) there, studying Organ with Dr. Frederick Jackisch; Music Composition with the Dutch/German composer Jan O. Bender; Harpsichord with Trudy Faber; and Choral Conducting with John Williams. During summer 1999, Dale is celebrating his 30th year as a member of the Staff of (Volunteer) Organists at Reorganized Latter Day Saints (RLDS) World Headquarters, Independence, Missouri, playing recitals and services on the 113-rank, 1959 AEolian-Skinner (Auditorium Organ) and 102-rank, 1993 Casavant tracker (Temple Organ). Dale Rider has served the Greater Kansas City Chapter of the American Guild of Organists in many capacities, including ten years as its BOMBARDE (newsletter) editor and Chapter Dean (1982-1983). Dale is also a Life Member of the Hymn Society of America and is in increasing demand as a music (engraver) typographer for publishers throughout North America. My Interests : After Hours "Stuff" My Hobbies include: CATHEDRALS - American, English, German, it doesn't really matter. (Interests within include: Choral Music; Pipe Organ Music; Stained Glass Windows; Liturgical and Worship Arts). FELINES - long and short-haired solid Blacks; and, oh yes, did I mention our Calico, our Maine-Coon, or our Silver Tabby? (We love kitties). MOVIES - all sizes and shapes! (well, to be quite honest: Julia Roberts is right up at the VERY TOP of my charts followed by Nicolas Cage, leading male actor. TRAVEL - particularly in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
