Wm. Jean Randall ---------------- Wm. Jean Randall began piano studies at the age of six and organ studies at age twelve. At age fifteen he was listed in "Who's Who Among American Music Students" and at age 17 entered the Wayne State University School of Music. During this time Mr. Randall studied organ with Ray Ferguson and church music with Malcolm Johns. An intensive study of the organ and its literature followed. Jean took an apprenticeship in organ construction, tuning, and maintenance with a well-known Pipe Organ company, eventually becoming a master pipe organ technician. Studies in organ literature and performance practice were done with Dr. Frederick Marriott, Dr. Gale Kramer, and Professor Pierre Toucheque. Mr. Randall is currently organist, choir director, and handbell choir director at the Utica United Methodist Church in Sterling Heights Michigan. He is also the principal organist and director of music at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Detroit. Jean holds degrees from Wayne State University and the University of Michigan where he is currently pursuing a doctorate in sacred music with Dr. Marilyn Mason. He is a member of the Collegiate National Honor Society and recipient of many awards for academic achievement.
