UNIVERSITY ENSEMBLES PRESENT SHARED CONCERT
The University at Albany Department of Music is pleased to present a shared program between the University-Community Symphony Orchestra and the University-Community Symphonic Band on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 3pm at the UAlbany Performing Arts Center on the uptown campus.
Under the direction of Kevin Champagne, the Symphonic Band will perform William P. Latham’s Proud Heritage,James Swearingham’s All Glory Told, Video Games Live as arranged by Ralph Ford andthe Star Spangled Banner Spectacular (The Music of George M. Cohan) as arranged by John Cavacas. Under the direction of Christopher Neubert, the Symphony Orchestra will take the stage after a short intermission to perform Johannes Brahms’s Variations on a Theme by Joseph Haydn, a work in the form of a theme and variations composed by in the summer of 1873 at Tutzing in Bavaria.
