The University at Albany Department of Music is pleased to present its past
and present voice majors performing both classical and musical theatre repertoire
in a program entitled Bach to Broadway
on Friday, November 20, 2009 at
7pm in the Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center on the uptown campus.
Musical theatre
favorites from Rent, Spring Awakening, Ragtime, Wicked, Secret Garden, Phantom of the Opera and Chorus
Line will be included as well as some standards by Cole Porter and Rodgers
and Hammerstein. The classical side of
the program will include opera arias, duets and art songs of Bizet, Britten,
Delibes, Heggie, Hoiby, Mozart and Puccini among others.
Featured singers
will be Laura de Lucia, Allison Freiman, Miranda Hempel, Shereen Moore, Amy
Pinella, Nellie Rustick, Melanie Shank, Olyvia Uveges, Shannon Whalen and Mia
Wood.
