The University at Albany
Department of Music is pleased to present mezzo-soprano Kara Cornell accompanied by pianist Michael Clement on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at
7pm in the Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center on the uptown campus. The program will include “La Regata Venezia” by Rossini, selections from “Les
nuits d'ete” by
Berlioz, an aria from Handel's “Ariodante”
and art songs and folk arrangements by American composer Jake Heggie.
Cornell is a classical
singer who performs with opera companies, orchestras and music festivals around
the country. She has
been a concert and recital soloist with numerous organizations and choirs
including The US Naval Academy, The Brooklyn Philharmonic and The Pittsburgh Camerata where she was soloist for the premiere and
professional recording of Nancy Galbriath’s Sacred Songs and Interludes.
She travels the country to perform with
