The University at Albany Department
of Theatre is pleased to present Picasso at the Lapin Agile as
its third offering of the 2007-08 season. The production will run for eight
performances in the Main Theatre at the University at Albany
Performing Arts Center on the uptown
campus from

wildly funny play by acclaimed comedian, actor and playwright Steve Martin,
Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein - both young, ambitious and knowing that they
are on to something big - meet in a local pub where they encounter a host of quirky
characters who are on their own personal journeys. Picasso and Einstein
indulge in a bout of dueling egos over whose truth is the real truth - art or
science - and who will have the greatest impact on the next century. According
to Martin, the play “. . . is uplifting because it speaks well of the creative
process in both art and science. There is kinship in the creative
spirit."

The schedule for Picasso at the Lapin Agile includes performances
on Friday and Saturday, March 7 & 8 at 8pm; Sunday, March
9 at 2pm; Wednesday through Friday, March12 -14 at 8pm and Saturday, March 15
at 2pm.
Tickets
are $12 for the general public and $8 for students, seniors and UAlbany
faculty/staff and may be purchased through the Performing Arts Center Box
