The University at Albany Department of Music is pleased to present its ninth annual Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 2, 2007 at 7pm in the Main Theatre of the Performing Arts Center on the uptown campus.  Several University ensembles -- the Chorale, Chamber Singers, Concert Band and Symphony Orchestra -- will be joined by student groups -- Serendipity and Earth Tones -- for a concert celebration of the season.

 

The program will include the Concert Band performing Steve Reisteter’s The Eighth Candle and Bill Holcombe’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.  The Chamber Singers will offer seven selections including J. Fred Coots’ Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Kirby Shaw’s Sing We Noel and Sally Herman’s O Magnum Mysterium as well as the Swedish folk carol, The Stable Boy.  The Symphony Orchestra and Chorale will join forces to present Serge Prokofiev’s Troika Song, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, two selections from Leroy Anderson – Sleigh Ride and A Christmas Festival – and a traditional French carol, Masters in the Hall.
