Sonya is currently a Residence Hall Director for Colonial Quad, and is returning for her second year as an Administrative Assistant for Orientation, but this is her 6^th year working for Orientation. Sonya has earned her Master’s Degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance and her Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Mathematical Sciences.  She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where her main committee is Delta Pearls. As a student at UAlbany, Sonya was the Captain of Angelic Voice of Praise step team, Spirit Brigade treasurer, Office of Student Life and Involvement event manager, Residential Life Residential Assistant and housing manager on Empire Commons. She was also involved with A.S.U.B.A., NAACP, a member of National Society for Collegiate Scholars and Project Excel. In her spare time, Sonya loves to play handball, step, dance, read, crafts and crotchet. She also volunteers at the AME church, Habitat for Humanity, Capital City Rescue Mission, Regional Food Bank and Ronald McDonald House, and many more.
