How do I register for Transfer Advisement and Orientation?

Please follow the steps on the Welcome Website at www.albany.edu/welcome to register for Transfer Advisement and Orientation. If you are having problems with your registration, please contact Orientation and Transition Programs at orientation@albany.edu.

What will happen during Transfer Advisement?

During Transfer Advisement, you will receive your ID Card and meet with your academic advisor to finalize your class schedule.

Can I move in prior to Orientation?

Yes. If you are living on campus, you can move in to your residence hall on Saturday, January 20th or Sunday, January 21st.

What will happen during Transfer Orientation?

Transfer Orientation is a half day conference that takes place in the afternoon of Monday, January 22nd. At Transfer Orientation, you will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of different interactive sessions to help you acclimate to the community and become a successful Great Dane! Some of the session topics include research, internship, and study abroad opportunities, involvement on campus, veterans services, community service opportunities, student government, and many more!

Is there a Family Orientation program?

There is an optional Transfer Family Orientation program on Monday, January 22nd. Transfer students should add their family member in their Orientation registration so that they can receive a confirmation email with information about the program.

How do I register for classes?

Please go the Welcome Website at www.albany.edu/welcome, select "Choose Your Classes," and read and complete all items on that website. During Transfer Advisement, you will have the opportunity to meet with your academic advisor to finalize your class schedule. You advisor may also reach out to you via phone and email to help you register for classes.
