Advisement and Orientation Registration

Please follow the steps below to register for Transfer Advisement and Orientation

  1. Pay your admissions deposit.
  2. Set up your NetID and password. This information will be sent to your personal email after you pay your deposit.
  3. After November 15th, visit the Welcome Website at www.albany.edu/welcome. Here you will find a checklist with all the steps that new students need to complete before coming to campus, including Advisement and Orientation! 
  4. On the Orientation section of the Welcome Website you will be given clear instructions on how to login to the Orientation registration system.
  5. Immediately after submitting your Orientation registration, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will include important information including when and where to arrive, a map, and a parking pass.

Note: Please allow two business days between the payment of your admissions deposit and registering for Advisement and Orientation. Our systems need two days to process your deposit and update with your information. If you have any questions about this, please contact us at orientation@albany.edu.

When can I come?

  • There are two Transfer Advisement sessions to choose from: January 19th and January 22nd.
  • Transfer Orientation is in the afternoon of Monday, January 22nd. All transfer students must attend Transfer Orientation.

To Do Prior to Your Advisement or Orientation Day:

  • Read and print out the Orientation confirmation email, Orientation Map, and Parking Pass.
  • Submit an ID Card photo through the Welcome Website. You will receive your ID Card when you check in at Transfer Advisement.
  • Complete all other steps on the Welcome Website to ensure a smooth transition to UAlbany.
