Whitney Brown - Class of 2011

"Use the Handbook; Study location tip"

Major: Business Administration – Marketing & Management
Minor: Spanish
Hometown: Middleburgh, NY

Whitney's advice:

Utilize your UAlbany Student Handbook! It contains a weekly planner for the whole year so you can easily plan ahead and keep yourself organized with your assignments, tests, meetings, and social engagements. The Handbook also contains loads of important information about Student Resources at UAlbany - everything from Health & Safety to Student Groups & Involvement. The best part is that it is FREE and you will get it when you arrive on campus for Great Dane Beginnings Weekend.

Once you are organized, you need to start studying. One of my favorite places to study is the Barnes and Noble Reading Room in the Science Library. It is quiet, has wireless internet, plenty of outlets, comfortable seating, big sunny windows, and even allows you to have food and drinks! This is one of those great places centrally located on campus that is normally not very crowded.
