Wulfert Appointed CAS Dean

George M. Philip, interim president of the University at Albany-SUNY, announced the appointment of Edelgard Wulfert to serve as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences for a three-year term. Wulfert is a professor of psychology and a University Collins Fellow who has served as acting dean of the College since September 2007.

“In this new leadership role, she has quickly earned the respect and confidence of her colleagues throughout the College of Arts and Sciences and across the campus, providing capable and stable leadership of the University’s largest academic unit,” said Philip. "It gives me great pleasure to appoint Dr. Wulfert dean of the College of Arts and Sciences."

Wulfert’s research focus is in the area of addictive behaviors, specifically pathological gambling and alcohol abuse. She joined the University at Albany in 1988, and won the Excellence Award in Teaching in 1997.
