SPH Faculty Hannan and Morse Highlighted in Moments in LeadershipUAlbany School of Public Health faculty Edward Hannan, Ph.D., Distinguished Professor and associate dean for Research, and Dale Morse, M.D., professor of epidemiology and assistant commissioner, Office of Science of the New York State Department of Health, were among 22 individuals profiled in Moments in Leadership: Case Studies in Public Health Policy and Practice. The book was formally launched at the Academy Health National Health Policy Conference in Washington, D.C., Feb. 4.
The book is a compilation of case studies highlighting public health leadership’s influence on health policy and depicts case studies at the national and local levels. Morse’s case study describes his work on the New York State measles outbreaks and was included in the chapter on Using Epidemiology and Data to Advance Public Health Policy. Hannan’s case study describes the development of New York’s CABG Surgery Reporting System and is profiled in the chapter on Embedding Quality and Patient Safety Into Health Care Delivery.
