UAlbany students, faculty, staff and friends will gather to send off the Men's Basketball team as the Great Danes leave the UAlbany campus for Philadelphia, site of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament game against the top-seeded University of Connecticut Huskies.

Background:
The University at Albany men's basketball team makes its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 17, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. The UAlbany Great Danes face Big East power University of Connecticut Huskies in front of a national audience on CBS. UAlbany looks to defy history by becoming the first No. 16 seed to beat a No. 1 seed in the tournament, something that hasn't happened in 84 previous games.
