Business School Dean Donald Siegel Addresses Economic Development Through Community Partnerships

UAlbany School of Business Dean Don Siegel addresses community-business partnerships at the Fort Orange Club on Wednesday, Nov. 12.

ALBANY, N.Y. (November 10, 2008) -- University at Albany School of Business Dean Donald Siegel will address local business and community leaders on "Pathways to Economic Development through Community Partnerships."

The talk will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12 at the Fort Orange Club, 110 Washington Avenue in Albany. Registration is at 7:30 a.m., and the program will be 8-9 a.m.

Siegel joined UAlbany as dean of the School of Business in July 2008. Previously, he served as associate dean for Graduate Studies and professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of California, Riverside. Siegel's research interests include university technology transfer, the economic and strategic implications of entrepreneurship and technological change, productivity analysis, and corporate social responsibility.

In 2009, Siegel will be conducting National Science Foundation-sponsored research on "University Research Parks and the Innovative Performance of Park Firms." Siegel is editor of the Journal of Technology Transfer, an associate editor of Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Productivity Analysis, and Academy of Management Learning & Education, and serves on various editorial boards.

The event is sponsored by the University at Albany Foundation's Council for Economic Outreach and the School of Business Advisory Council.

The Council for Economic Outreach of the University at Albany was established to enhance collaboration between community, business, government and University leaders to form ongoing partnerships that will mutually benefit the Capital Region and the University.

The School of Business Advisory Council provides advice, opinions and ideas regarding a variety of issues including academic programs, student recruitment and placement, alumni engagement, and the general competitive environment affecting business education. The Council helps to improve the visibility and enhance the reputation of the School of Business and the University at Albany in the Capital Region
