Students Pursuing Programs in Nanoscale Science or Engineering at CNSE at SUNY Poly

What are the General Education requirements for students studying at CNSE at SUNY Poly?

All students must complete the general education requirements of the institution which grants the degree, so any student earning a degree from SUNY Poly must complete the General Education Program at SUNY Poly.

I am an undergraduate student at CNSE at SUNY Poly and I need or want to register for a UAlbany course, will I be able to do so?

Yes. SUNY Poly undergraduate students pursuing programs in nanoscale science or nanoscale engineering at the CNSE campus will be able to register for UAlbany courses. While there are specific courses that may be needed or advised for your degree requirements, you will not be limited to taking only those courses and, in fact, you will be able to register for any open UAlbany courses as advised.

As a SUNY Poly student, would I be able to continue living in UAlbany housing?

At the present time, only degree seeking UAlbany students are eligible to reside in campus housing. If you are transferring to SUNY Poly, you will need to contact the Residential Life and Housing Office at SUNY Poly to be included in the SUNY Poly housing arrangements.

Will UAlbany and/or CDTA bus service be available for SUNY Poly students pursuing programs in nanoscale science or nanoscale engineering at the CNSE campus?

Plans are being made to provide the UAlbany campus shuttle bus service to these students. SUNY Poly students who want to use the CDTA bus services will be required to cover CDTA’s normal per-ride bus fare.

Will campus recreation be available for SUNY Poly students?

Yes, plans are underway to provide campus recreation options to SUNY Poly students pursuing programs in nanoscale science or nanoscale engineering at the CNSE campus.

Will SUNY Poly students be able to participate in UAlbany’s intercollegiate athletics or UAlbany intramural programs?

No.

Will SUNY Poly students be able to participate in UAlbany Student Association club sports?

Will SUNY Poly students be able to use the UAlbany Health or Counseling Centers and services?

  • For students who matriculated at UAlbany and who choose to remain in their nanoscale science or nanoscale engineering programs at UAlbany, there will be no changes in access to these services.
  • For SUNY Poly students enrolled in programs in nanoscale science or nanoscale engineering at the CNSE campus, provisions are being made to provide access to doctor appointments and pharmacy services. UAlbany Counseling Center services will not be available for these students.
