Biography:
Philip McCallion, director of the University at Albany Center for Excellence in Aging Services, is an expert on the Medicare D program. McCallion conducts Medicare D educational programs for seniors in upstate New York in conjunction with State providers and the Elder Network of the Capital Region. His research and program development activities include evaluating the effectiveness of interventions for persons with dementia, the development of outreach strategies and interventions, and assisting agencies with direct care workforce development.

A professor in the UAlbany School of Social Welfare, McCallion is a Hartford Geriatric Social Work Faculty Scholar. He graduated from Queen's University, Belfast, Northern Ireland, and received his doctorate from UAlbany (1993).
