Biography:
John P. Forsyth, is director of the Anxiety Disorders Research Program. He is widely known for his work on acceptance and experiential avoidance, and the role of emotion regulatory processes in anxiety disorders. He is a leader in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and an active researcher in the anxiety disorders. In 2000 he received the B. F. Skinner New Researcher Award from Division 25 of the American Psychological Association. In 1999, he received the Dissertation Award from the Society for a Science for Clinical Psychology. John is a licensed psychologist in New York, a Clinical Fellow of the Behavior Therapy and Research Society, and serves on the editorial boards of several leading journals. He is the author of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Anxiety Disorders and ACT on Life, Not on Anger.
